Henry nods to Sunil. The two wander further into the desolate park’s inner space.

Henry holds up a hand to Sunil, who helps the man get to his feet.

Sunil (now embarrassed) slips the quarter back into his pocket.

A stained backpack hanging off his left shoulder, Sunil steps cautiously over some homeless people, before stopping near the feet of one. He looks down at the ragged-clothed gentleman sleeping in a sitting position with his back resting against a metal fence. A dirty paper cup is wedged between his feet, with a ‘spare change’

Bernadette lets out another laugh, while Adam swings around in embarrassment.

While Adam types a response, Bernadette digs into the pile of crumbled clothes stashed in the small silver suitcase next to her desk. Adam finishes his text then looks up and over to Bernadette, only to discover she is now naked from the waist up while yanking off her boots.

Bernadette lets out a long, loud, joyous laugh.

Bernadette and Adam simultaneously leap to their feet, rush to each other, and embrace. Still locked in a hug, they jump up and down together in celebration.

Bernadette looks to Adam as tears roll out her eyes. With quivering lips, she forms a shaky smile.

Adam (with a trembling hand) passes over his phone. Bernadette (rolling her eyes) flips it open and reads Philip’s text. Then her jaw drops, and she rereads the message again.
