Liz leans forward, and slowly slides her palms and fingertips from Nobody’s bare chest up to his shoulders. She draws her lips near his mouth, but then diverts them to his ear.

Nobody grips the bottom of his white tank top, yanks it over his head and tosses it aside.
Nobody leads Liz into a clearing, where just 100 feet in front of them, the ground comes to an end. Below and beyond the cliff’s edge is a miles long view of the Manasquan Reservoir’s deep blue lake and the green hills that form its boundary. Liz steps forward and soaks in the awesome scenery.
Nobody takes the apple off her palm, and bites off a large chunk. As he chews his fruit, he offers the remainder back to her. She accepts and takes an even larger bite. As she struggles to chew through it, he laughs hard at her chipmunk cheeks.
