A red blast of energy passes just inches from her head, to explode somewhere out in the hallway. The building foundations shake, but, after several uncertain seconds, stand.
The Possessor swings a fist into Frank’s mouth, to bounce his knuckles off Frank’s teeth. Tasting blood – Frank’s rage, and his fist, ignites. His hand crackles with red-hot power. After an uncomfortable period of silence, the Possessor turns around to face a stupidly eager Frank.
Abby pushes the base of the cross charm into the skin of her palm, hoping that pain will distract from the man glaring down at her. It does not.
Abby forces herself to make eye contact, while her fingers (dug deep into her pocket) grip tightly onto her silver necklace.
Standing tall in the room’s center (still in full costume) is the Possessor. He ogles the two new arrivals with blood red eyes. Abby comes to a wise halt, as Frank unwisely strolls past her – stopping just a foot from the Possessor. Frank extends a hand.
A few steps from him, leaning against the wall is Tranquility (still in costume minus the headgear), tapping a nervous foot against the rotting floor. She locks eyes with Abby, and Abby sees the fresh reddened bruise on her cheek. When Tranquility realizes, she turns her head away to gaze aimlessly across the room.
