Adam looks at the high heels perched on the corner of his desk, and then back down to the silver case at his feet. He lets out a frustrating sigh, stands back up, grabs Bernadette’s case – and her shoes – and runs for the door.
Without waiting for his response, Bernadette picks up the long case, and rushes across the room towards the exit. Adam picks up the small case, but then halts when he reaches his desk and his unfinished work. Bernadette is already out the door and out of sight. He lets the suitcase drop to the floor,
Bernadette closes the safe, then reverses the process to reconceal the safe’s location. Standing and spinning to face Adam, she takes the photo back from his fingers, while her eyes dart to the metal cases near their feet.
Bernadette does not answer any of his questions. Instead, without looking up, she holds up the jungle woman’s photo to Adam. He takes its from her and stares at it for a moment.
Bernadette (leaving behind her shoes) rushes off to the far end of the room. Adam (curiosity getting the better of him) gets up and follows after her. She pushes a bookcase away from the back wall. Adam taps a pencil against a blank page of a notebook. When the lab door suddenly crashes open, he jumps an inch out of his chair, before yelling back to his unseen intruder.
Nobody (dressed in army pants and a sleeveless hoodie) takes a nonchalant side-step detour, in order to rub a shoulder casually against Relay. She looks at his eyes, unable to see his look of concern concealed behind his old-school hockey mask.
