Relay immediately sprints into action, speeding at Gemini. But still running on fumes, she is not quick enough, and Gemini – blasting into the air – greets her halfway. Scooping her up and squeezing her in his arms, he flies them both directly at the others.

The three remaining Fearless dive to the ground to avoid a collision. Gemini and his prize bank upwards, to land atop the overturned bus side. He holds Relay to his side with a hand wrapped around her throat, letting her toes dangle inches above the bus’s metal.

Struggling to breathe, she grasps at his fingers with both hands, but cannot pry them loose. Gemini glares down at her teammates with his evil smile. Suddenly, a bullet whizzes an inch past Relay’s skull to ricochet harmlessly off Gemini’s metal shoulder pad.
